Finished commissions from the past few months…

The past few months have been filled with some lovely commissions and I thought it was about time I shared some with you!

Diamond Earrings, Ring and Emerald Pendant

Back in February Mhairi came to me with a a collection of unworn pieces of jewellery - there were two rings and a pair of diamond cluster earrings. The brief was to make something in my cluster style that could be worn every day. The earrings were to be turned into a a ring in the style of one of my scatter rings and the two rings a pair of earrings and pendant. I first made the pieces in silver to confirm the design with Mahiri and then had them cast in the gold. Below are the final pieces.

Kirsty came to me with her wedding band and engagement ring and said they hadn’t ever really been her style and could she have something chunkier that incorporated both. Kirsty is originally from Orkney and so our affinities for the sea were shared! She also had an 18ct yellow gold necklace that she never wore so we added that into the pile. After making some silver samples she decided on the finished ring which combines both metals. A 9ct white gold central wave ring is surrounded either side with 18ct yellow gold wave rings with diamonds of various sizes scattered around the central stone.

9ct Brooch and Pendant

Tarn came to me with a real mix of jewellery which included some 9ct gold cufflinks her dad had donated for the commission. She had also bought a beautiful Aquamarine from Africa and wanted to incorporate this into the piece as well. We chatted through potential designs and she liked my cluster circle collections most. I based the final design from one of the cluster pendants only, made bigger and with the intention of adding the aquamarine. I made the piece in wax and got this cast in the gold. The stone was added once the piece was cast and one of the requirements of the piece is that it could be worn as a pendant or brooch so the necessary fittings were added.
