Over the past 5 years I have slowly been developing and expanding my contemporary jewellery business. The purchasing of new equipment is always a big investment and the next piece of kit is no exception! I am now in need of a PUK welder! This machine will help my practice run more efficiently as a business and allow new designs to develop more quickly and experimentally.

The cost of a PUK welder is £3800 and I need your help and support to get to this milestone.

Over the past year I have been Artist in Residence at Glasgow School of Art where I have had access to a PUK welder. This has allowed me to develop new designs and below are some of the pieces I have developed over the past year which are only possible to make using this piece of kit. It also will allow me to use other mixed materials such as Titanium, Aluminium, Platinum and other metals. 

To show off the benefits of a PUK welder I have created a unique collection of earrings which are made by hand bending stainless steel wire and connecting at a single join. These designs couldn't be made without the use of the PUK welder and shows some of the limited edition pieces I could potentially make in the future.

Each pair of earrings would be delivered in my Heather McDermott packaging and a thank you card. They are made from hypoallergenic stainless steel.
